• Beth Harake

    Principal Designer

    Beth Harake is among the region’s most reputable interior design and home staging professionals. Since completing her interior design studies in 1999, she has designed, consulted, and staged in nearly one thousand homes. Comfortable working within a range of styles, periods, and aesthetics, Beth’s expertise is in designing spaces that are as comfortable and livable as they are sophisticated and inspired, making her a favorite of real estate agents and her long list of clients. Trusted for her industry experience and design intuition, Beth also served as a contributor to the Santa Barbara News Press, where she wrote a weekly column on topics related to interior design, staging, and equity-based design solutions for selling properties. Outside of her professional activities, Beth can be found enjoying the California lifestyle with her two miniature Australian shepherds, and tending to her backyard garden.

  • Julian Harake, NCARB

    Designer

    Julian Harake is an architect, designer, and Santa Barbara native. Prior to joining Beth Harake Interiors, he spent nearly a decade working alongside the world’s leading designers in New York City, including Annabelle Selldorf, Steven Holl, Jesse Reiser+Nanako Umemoto, and Elizabeth Diller. During that time, he served on the faculty at several leading institutions, teaching interior design and architecture courses at Parsons School of Design, Princeton University, Syracuse University, and Barnard College.

    Julian received his B.A. with high honors from UC Berkeley and M.Arch from Princeton University, where he was awarded the Suzanne Kolarik Underwood Prize. Seeking to reconnect with his hometown and work more closely with clients, Julian returned to Santa Barbara in 2023, where he assists with all aspects of design, documentation, and management.

    Outside of his design work, Julian is also a prolific writer and design critic. His reviews and essays have appeared in The Montecito Journal, LUM Art Magazine, the New York Review of Architecture, Dispatches Magazine, and several published books.
